The concept behind version exclusive Pokemon is pretty simple: Pokemon is about talking to and playing with others as much as it is your solo journey to become a Pokemon Master, and as such the developers want players to meet up with and trade with other players in order to catch 'em all. Both Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let's Go Eevee offer up eleven version exclusive Pokemon that can only be caught in that version of the game - and surprisingly, this doesn't include the starter species Pikachu and Eevee, who can actually be caught separately in both games. It is worth noting that Pikachu and Eevee found in the wild aren't identical to your partner Pokemon, however - your partner is special, so can learn an expanded move set and other unique abilities.
